My sister is pregnant - YAY! She and her husband have been married a year longer then DH and I. They are on their 3rd fertility doctor and I've known for a few weeks but they wanted to wait to tell everyone else until she had her ultrasound yesterday. All looks great and she is due 11/28. We're super excited for them and I'm excited that Adele will have a cousin so close in age. Of course we've already had to have a discussion about how the baby can't be baptized on Adele's 1st birthday. So my first Mother's Day is Saturday. I got a very nice card and money for a pedicure from my parents and a card and a hip purse from my IL's. Both very nice gifts though right now the diaper bag is my purse so I'm not sure when I'll use the one MIL got me but its cute so I'm sure I'll use it eventually. I don't know what DH has planned but he's made several comments like "Adele I hope you got mommy a great gift for Sunday" so I know he's up to something. The deal is he cooks all day, makes what I want for dinner and does NO work! It'll be nice to have him off, the last few weekends that he's been off we've had lots of plans and haven't really gotten to relax. Adele is sleeping like a champ! I'm thrilled! One night this week she slept from 7:30pm to 5:30am, I had to go in and check on her like 2 or 3 times to make sure she was still breathing. We use the "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" book and its hold pretty true for her. She takes a 45min to 2 hour nap about 90 minutes to 2 hours after she gets up for the day and then takes a nap of the same length around noon and then usually another one around 3-4. Last night she fell asleep at the hospital while we were have dinner with daddy at like 6:45. I know they say never wake a sleeping child but I woke her at 8 so that she'd sleep through the night and she did, down at 10 up at 7. Woo hoo! Plus I've been able to use her first morning nap to either go back to bed if I didn't sleep well, or take a shower, or catch up online, or read the paper - lots of choices. I just don't know what to do with myself. I went to a moms group party this afternoon. I feel so out of place at some of them. There seems to be a group of moms that know each other and the rest of us are just outsiders, even though we're all resident wives. I e-mailed the one mom I know with a first child Adele's age so hopefully we can get together for lunch next week. I'm also having lunch with my friend that is moving, it will be our last one for a while and I'm bummed. They're not moving that far away but it will still stink to not have them around when we've been in the same town for 9 years. I think that is really all that is going on here - we're just hanging out otherwise and enjoying our spring weather.Tags: None
