So five more days and DH's 4th year comes to a close. It seems so weird for him to be finishing his clinical/surgical years and going into two years of research. He's got a busy week this week and we've got the graduation dinner Tuesday night so we'll both be very glad when Friday night gets here. He gets rid of his pager and except for a rare call night will have a lot more control over his schedule for the next two years. I was talking to a friend who's husband is Ortho the other day and she was saying how her husband is jealous of DH's research time and my comment to her was "but your husband is done in one more year" - if DH didn't have two years of research his would be a 5 year program and in one more year he'd be done, not counting fellowship. I know being interested in academics he needs this time to get his paper count up and his research idea really is a great one if they can make it work, we'll see.

So the IL's are coming on Thursday...this should be...interesting. Especially since I've now found out Thursday will definitely be a late day for DH and Friday could be too. Do we have a hair pulling out emoticon? I finally got MIL's dietary restriction list, I'd asked for them so that I could plan to cook at least one night if not two that they're here. Its not too terrible but its definitely different then what DH and I are used to so now I need to come up with some ideas. Breakfast and lunches are the harder part IMO since we usually do bagels or cereal and sandwiches and she doesn't eat bread. I'm sure we'll make it work, last time she brought her own homemade yogurt, I don't know if she's doing that this time or not. Usually they call on Saturday or Sunday but they did not call this weekend. Hopefully the weather stays as it has been so that we can plan to get out of the house, I can't handle sitting in the house and everyone watching Adele play for 4 days.

One week from tomorrow we are leaving for Texas! Adele will finally meet her last living great grandparent, so we'll have photos of all 7 of them with her. So we're spending Monday afternoon to Thursday morning in Dallas with her. DH also has an aunt, uncle and cousin there but we're not sure if we're going to get to see them. Just like his other aunt and uncle they can be kind of flaky. The other great thing about Dallas is that we get to see a medical school classmate that we haven't seen in 4 years. June 30th is her last day of residency so we're going over to their house for dinner on Tuesday night. She is studying for boards and then opening her own dermatology practice. That's quite the endeavor for a brand new doctor, but if anyone can do it I'm sure she can. Then Thursday through Sunday afternoon we will be in Houston with my sister and her husband. I have a feeling Adele will come home with all kinds of new clothes b/c my sister called the other day and asked for Adele's size. She spoils her so I should just get used to it. By the time she has kids I suspect we'll have the funds to spoil hers to, so payback is fair play.

We're flying again for this trip which I think will be a little harder then when we flew with her last time. Last time she was only 9 weeks old, now she is 6 months and much more mobile. We have a flight from Minneapolis to Houston which is 3 hours and then a layover of 90 minutes then a flight to Dallas which is an hour. When I chose our seats I chose a window and an aisle with the hope that the middle would stay open and we could use her car seat without paying for it. As of now it does look like there are seats on our planes but I guess we'll see if they're still there in a week. I just don't see her sleeping or sitting still for 3 hours on the way there 3 hours on the way back, though the way back is an evening flight so she could.

So that is what is going on with us for the next two weeks, so after Thursday afternoon I may be scarce until the 7th. Its now 10:10, I should go to bed since Adele has woken up in the middle of the night the last 2 nights even though she was STTN before then. Of course last night it was a soaked diaper so I double stuffed her diaper tonight to see if I can combat that. I guess we'll see.

Until next time...
