At our neighborhood X-mas party, we all told our favorite holiday memory...and it was a hoot to hear what everyone had to say! Lets all share ours!!!
For me, probably the funnniest memory that I have is the Christmas after Thomas and I got married. Andrew was 2 weeks old and I was feeling very "maternal". We had celebrated Christmas on the 24th at Thomas' mom's house and they were all coming to us on the 25th.
My mother-in-law grew up in southern germany...when Thomas and I got married, she actually came to our new apartment with cleaning supplies to "show me" exactly what she expected....if that is any indication of what I was up against...I wanted to create a "perfect" holiday to impress her!
They arrived and everything was going really well....then I pulled the turkey out of the oven and put it on the plate...she went to help me and....the bag of giblets and neck fell out of the turkey I had forgotten to remove them because I'd been so nervous....
I still look back on it and laugh..anyone want me to help them make their turkey this year?
