We happen to walk though the aisle that contains picture frames and decorative clocks. DS announces very loudly--and demonstrating his failure to completely master English phoenetics: "Mommy got a big cock! Really big cock! Mommy likes big cocks!" People were STARING.
We had a similar type of situation recently. DH and DD #1 who was 5 at the time often have a friendly banter of funny names they call each other. ex. DH will call her a picklehead and she'll say something ridiculous like well you're an apple nose or something that makes no sense. She had recently learned about all the body and one day we're at the store and they're having their usual banter when she says (of course at the top of her lungs) "Oh yeah, well you have small privates Papa"! She had no clue what that meant and of course everyone just stopped and stared.

A few weeks ago Dh, Emma, Reed, and Brigham are eating dinner and I was getting ready to leave to run an errand. Brigham was standing on his chair and says "I want to swing on your arm mommy." I told him "in August or September you can do that, but now you might knock mommy over." Dh then chimes in "Yeah that is when the baby will be out." I had started gathering my stuff to walk out the door when Brigham puts his hands on his hips, and with a serious tone and look says "Daddy HOW does the baby get out of mommy's tummy?"

I looked at dh and said "Good luck, this ONE is ALL your's." Of course as the door is closing behind me I hear "Hey that is NOT fair come back!"

Dh told him that mommy will go to the hospital and a doctor will help the baby out, to which Brigham says "But daddy you are a doctor can't you just do it?"

My 3.5 yr old didn't want my mom to leave today and asked her to stay for a week. When my mom said she couldn't, Ella said, "I'll pay you $20 bucks."

            At the St. Louis zoo:

Jacob walks up to an animal pen and says with certainty: It's a mountain goat! It's a mountain goat!

DH walks up and reads the sign: It's a Trans-Caspian Ural

            Jacob: I was SO close!

A few pens over we read the sign proclaiming:

              Somali Wild Asses

We said it out loud & Quinn says "Are they angry asses?"

(He'd just seen an animal he thought had an angry face ... so he was asking if this animal was also angry.)

This is so funny that you posted the asses. One of the couples that we know would always make it a point to read the sign outloud (Hey J look at the Somali Wild Asses... Aren't those nice wild asses?) when we were there just to get my goat because I once mentioned that I made it a practice to teach J specific names for things rather than general. I know this is only funny to me... but it made me think of some of the good times in the STL and now I miss my friends....

That is hysterical. I hope you're collecting all their quotes.

Yes, yes keep their quotes - my mom brought me my babybook when I saw her last month since I'm now having one of my own and she had written down A LOT of my quotes like this from when I was a kid. DH and I had a blast going back through them.

At daycare I went out on the playground with DS for a few minutes, but then had to go inside. After I went inside DS started yelling to his teachers, "The door ate my mom! The door ate my mom!! I want her back!!!" He knows that I was not eaten by the door, but anything to up the drama of the situation.....

A couple nights ago daddy was shooting baskets outside with the boys and Kyle was having a bad streak - he just couldn't make a basket. Finally he stops, glares down at his basketball and yells, "PAY ATTENTION!!!"

I was just asking DS what he wanted to wear on his first day of school, which is tomorrow

he said "I want to wear red!"

I suggested his new Hawiian surfboard shirt which has a red background.

He said "no way people will think I'm on vacation!"
