Strollers

I just tried out an Ergo carrier and wish to holy heck I had seen one earlier on. I am not sure it is is worth it with a 14mo but will definitely get one for our next baby.

It is. I used it as a back carrier a lot. I think I posted this warning elsewhere -- when Anna was in it and pitching the mother of all fits, she put her foot against my hip as leverage and almost managed to flip herself out.

I'm now using the Ergo as a front carrier and love it. The hip belt is a great way for me to carry the weight. Only problem (TMI) is that something about how she is held against my chest makes my breasts leak. Drives me crazy. A kazillion times better than the Bjorn for me.

We have an Ergo and love it. We didn't get it till DS was around 8 months...wish we had found it sooner.

We have a couple of Zooper strollers and have been very happy with them. Their all-terrain stroller (Boogie/Zydeco) fully reclines and has a reversible seat so it can accommodate newborns. We have been using it since DS was 2 days old. The front wheel locks into place and it can be used for jogging, but a stroller that has a true stationary wheel would be better for running.

Baby-wearer here...I definitely wore my sweaters over Daegan and I during the winter. Daegan's starting to try to 'flip' out of back carries too...so we've switched to front carries again.

I have a Graco Quattro Travel System that the grandparents have used. I also got a free umbrella stroller from TRU that I figure I'll use when he's bigger.

Honey - after the thread on cervical mucous and the "how open are you" thread, I'm pretty sure we have nothing that is TMI anymore.

All of this stroller info is great, although I know dh will balk if I suggest trading up from our 7 year old Graco travel system.

I forgot to add that wearing Daegan makes mine leak as well. You're not alone, Cupcake!!

What is up with that, Michele? I thought I was done with the breast pads. I think her upper arms or shoulders get held right across the boobies.

I think it's the closeness of the babe always there....that their small movements can stimulate a let down. I still always use breast pads....I bought some washable ones since I don't gush....and that's been enough for me.

I'm happy with a nicer quality umbrella stroller and a jogger.

Umbrella: We have the Combi, it's the basic model that Babies R Us had at the time. I *love* it. I can fold/unfold with one hand, the seat reclines all the way, it's lightweight and turns on a dime, it has a carrying strap and a cover (I've never had to use, but plan to when we travel in October), a smallish basket underneath (we're not really mall rats, so I don't use the basket a whole lot anyway). My only complaint about it is that the canopy doesn't swivel to shade DS's eyes if we're walking outside and the sun is shining in his face (our jogger's canopy swivels), but that's really the only thing.

When my kids were little though we lived in a city where the winters were mild/nonexistent and you could walk everywhere.

you can check the stroller and wheel baby around in this in airports. It's a LIFESAVER --- especially if you have two kids.

I have a jogger that's been out of the house about a half dozen times for errands, another half dozen for exercise. Other than that it's all mei tai, all the time. The infant carseat got detached and used as a carrier just a handful times. Once we tried bringing him in to the house still sleeping (woke as soon as we lifted the seat from the base). A couple of times we brought him in to restaurants and he spent as much as 10-15 minutes sitting there in between being handed between Mommy and Daddy.

The bugaboo's are SO expensive. LOVE to have one but can't bring myself to spend $750 on a stroller. Maybe if the next child is born after residency.

I think we've decided on the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe because it holds the Graco SafeSeat Car Seat, it collapses with one hand, will fit easily in the back of my SUV, isn't too heavy and will be cheaper then buying several strollers to start. Once summer rolls around we may invest in a jogger.

This one is less expensive- only 500 bucks but seriously- you'd only need to buy it- it can do the outdoor thing and the city thing.
