Well...it turned out to be the opposite of what I expected.

I picked Garrison up and he was fine. He was full of new info and expectations, but he was fine.

When I picked Brennan up, she looked like she had been crying. I asked her a zillion leading questions and never could get an ounce of answer out of her. She said she was just tired. After a short nap, she perked back up and was her sassy self again.

Then, after dinner, G had an emotional meltdown and cried because he misses his friends in Nashville and really wants to have friends here. I gave him a shoulder to cry on and explained that it just takes time, soccer starts soon, invite over whoever you want, etc. It made me feel really bad for him because I had to move in the 5th grade, too, so I know exactly how he feels.

We're doing it all over again today. I'm sure it will go better...

        Heidi,

Thanks for sharing the pic!! Baeutiful! Your kids sure look confident! That's half the battle. Good luck today...it will get easier. I was always under the impression that it was a touch harder for girls due to the social drama. I love the name Garison btw(you use one r?).

No, those were my start-of-school jitters. Thanks for pointing that out. It's Garrison with 2 r's.
