Re: Question for parents of pre-schoolers

I thought of suggesting swapping apt's but I just don't know if I can do 3 moves in 12 months. We'll have to hire movers for us and most likely for them. Hopefully the weather will turn up and I'll try to see this an excuse to leave the apt more often. Thanks for all he suggestions. I'll bring this up with the management as well.

Re: Question for parents of pre-schoolers

I soooooo feel your pain. We live in the lower flat of a 1920's duplex which is built pretty well. This summer new tenants moved upstairs, a mom and her 2 daughers, ages 21 & 14. I am usually pretty easy-going about noise having lived in apartments for the last 14 years (UGH!). They come and go in the middle of the night, waking me up at least once a week.

However these people are just over the top. Most of the time they are okay, but last night at 8:15 they were hammering something. It wouldn't have been a big deal but they were doing it right above my 5 yo's bedroom and he is in bed by 7:30 on school nights. I was sure that they didn't realize that their kitchen is right above his room and when I knocked on their door to mention something to them, the princess bit my head off telling me that I should get my own place if I couldn't live with neighbors.

I was floored. I had very kindly said that the hammer was keeping my son awake and before I could even suggest that she move the project into another room she laid into me saying that it wasn't too late. I told her that I realized it was still a reasonable hour, but my kid was complaining about the noise because he was TIRED. (What 5 yo says he is tired?)

I went downstairs so angry that dh went and talked to her. He has quite a temper and I swear it will get ugly if she can't behave like an adult.
