    Re: Rebelling against mandatory attendance

    Ummmm.

This thread sure took an interesting turn!

Kevin, to answer your question, the private schools want us to of course continue paying tuition to keep them "enrolled"...but their schoolwork in Germany will count. Like I said, we may have to take some math with us.

The public school would have us not enroll until we get back....and we'd be officially enrolled over in germany.....They'd want Alex to keep in touch each week with his new class though.

When I was in the 8th grade, my family spent 3 1/2 weeks in Central and South America. The schools were willing to work with my family and I was given assignments to complete while I was on the road.

I was just at the Aquarium (national) today. I bought DW a couple membership plus one guest for Christmas. It's fun to spend an hour or so during non-peak times and just walk out.

But remember, I've got plans on the 28th (fifth wedding anniversary) and the 30th DW's birthday.

As to ADD, maybe. But I don't remember jumping out of my seat and smacking other kids around in elementary school and having my parents blame it on a health condition.

          Re: Rebelling against mandatory attendance

I just found out today that our school doesn't have mandatory attendance. Thank goodness. We are thinking about spending a week in Montana this fall and it only works out during school. This thread got me a little worried. Now I might just annoy the principal and/or teacher instead of having to explain myself to the school thugs.

I do believe "Monica" may take her rightful place next to Sven in the colorful history of MSN.

I had the same thought, you said it first. Monica and Sven. Kelly, have you seen the Sven cell phone commercial? It is eerie, almost as if someone has been "listening" to us.

did I really read that Rick is coming to Baltimore?
In fact, I'll be in Baltimore over Easter weekend and again the first weekend in May (maybe) and DEFINITELY the weekend and following week that he has the Boards.

So, yeah- let's get some crabs and beer and go to an O's game where I can sing the National Anthem properly. (for those of you who haven't experienced an Anthem at an O's home game, at the part where you say "Oh say does that star-spangled banner..." everyone in Baltimore yells "O". I have a difficult time hearing the Anthem other places as a result.

I will DEFINITELY meet you there. Just send me the dates and the hotel you will be at (the sooner the better) and I'll make reservations at the same hotel.
