Thank you so much for all of the congrats! It has been amazing having him home and remembering again how tiny they start out. He looks so little to us, it's hard to think that he is double the size that our other boy was at birth!! I can sit and hold him for hours on end! (That is, until the twins strip down and start running around like maniacs!!)
As for VBAC, yes - it is a vaginal birth after cesarian. I have to admit, right in the middle of it, I couldn't believe that I had opted for this route. With a c-section, all you do is lay there while everyone else does all the work. With the vbac, everyone else just sits there while YOU do all the work. Right in the moment, I swore I would NEVER have another child again in this lifetime - at least not this way. (Okay, I have since gone through the 'forgetfull veil' and just yesterday thought - 'oh, it wasn't THAT bad'... ). Still, we have both decided that we are waiting a LONG stretch of time before we jump onto the baby band wagon again.
As for my parents - no, they won't get to come back to the states for the next two years. But we can go visit them, and since I lived there as a volunteer for 1 1/2 years a while back, we are definitely going to go visit and see some of my old stomping grounds. I can't wait!! My whole family is getting together this weekend to send them off, and I have been scouring the internet for last minute tickets, but alas, this will be yet ANOTHER family function that we miss in the name of medical training .
Well, since Benjamin finally went to sleep again, I better try to get some shut-eye before the others wake up roaring to go for the day!!
