He's working out great! He's doing well with the housebreaking and has already mastered "sit" and "come" and his name. I don't know if it's a puppy thing or a rescue dog thing (or an ACD thing Jenn ), but he's surgically attached to my ankles. Will NOT leave my side. Ever. I'm glad we got the crate, because he would probably tear up the house in distress during the brief time I am away from him. I had to sit with him to get him to eat this morning. I walked away, he left his food bowl. He gets tired and falls asleep across my feet. Unreal. At least it makes it easy to correct bad behavior. (Just hard to walk! )

Well, he sounds more and more like an ACD! (as Petey is surgically attached to my feet as I type. If I go the bathroom, he comes. If I go downstairs, he comes. If I God Forbid Leave the House Without the Dog, he'll go crash on the king size bed but PRETEND he's been sitting by the door the whole time. They are smart, after all!)

I think the rescue dog / foster dog thing has a lot to do with it. Bruce has been a treat (most of the time) and amazingly patient with the kids. The woman who fostered him said she always interferred and played with the pups while they were eating, etc. to get them used to the idea of kids.

I'm glad he's working out so well.
