I had to go the doctor a few weeks ago and was he precribed a new medication for me. I asked if the medication was safe to take while nursing and he said 'yeah, no problem' and gave me some samples. I took all of the samples and went to fill the RX last week. When I got home, I saw a big sticker on the bottle that said 'do not take if you are breastfeeding'. I stopped taking it and called our ped to see if it was ok (couldn't get in touch with the specialist). The ped looked it up and said that they're not sure if the drug is passed through the milk or what it will do to Natalie and it was up to us to weigh the pros and cons and decide.
I'm still waiting to get in touch with the specialist to see if I can take something else. I feel awful for exposing her to this drug and not knowing what it could do to her.
