I called the lactation consultant, and left a message to have the LC call me back. Anyway I haven't heard back, and thought I would see if anyone here had an answer.
I am breastfeeding Reed. Anyway, he has a bacterial infection of his belly button. He has been put on a topical antibiotic cream and an oral antibiotic (Keflex). I was wondering if this will increase his risk of getting thrush. I want to avoid getting thrush at all cost, and was wondering also if there is anything I can do to prevent it.
So far here is what I am doing---
handwashing before and after diaper changes, admistering of the meds, and feedings.
giving the oral med after feeding
Thanks.
