Well, the fingernail polish treatment has been suggested. Haven't tried it yet, but I think we may. My husband decided that maybe if they had "pretty" nails they wouldn't ruin them by sucking their thumbs. So, on a day when I wasn't home (out shopping for winter clothes for the kiddos) he painted my daughters' nails. (I didn't understand why he painted HIS nails until he explained that the girls wouldn't let him touch their nails with the stuff until he did his ) Anyway, the girls thought their nails were quite pretty, but the thumbs went straight in the mouth ASAP. Oh well, we probably will have to move up to some nasty-tasting stuff. Maybe you could put that stuff on their pacifiers and tell me if it works?

GREAT idea!!! Although I know they'd cry. Maybe I could tell them they went sour or something. There is this colorless stuff you buy and brush it on like nail polish. It's just really, really bitter tasting.

Kelly, I was hoping they'd be over it by age 25!!! Oh oh...

        Janet,

I guess the anticipation got the best of her? Pehaps its best to let the nukie fairy disappear for awhile? Then she can come suddenly one night? I don't know....It is so hard because they rely on these 'soothers' so much.

Do they have any other comfort toys besides nukies? Could you guys 'lose' the nukies? It's so hard...I empathize...
