  • they grow up so fast!

So, on our walk home from school today my kindergartener informs me that he has a girlfriend.

Me: You do? What is her name?
Jacob: Lily. No - wait - it's not Lily. It's Maddy.
Me: What do you like about her?
Jacob: I love her more than all of the other girls.
Me: Does Maddy know she's your girlfriend?
Jacob: Yes. I told her she was going to be my girlfriend.
Me: And what did she say?
    Jacob: She said okay.

Little trollop! Didn't her mother teach her not to be so easy?!? Plus, I've met the mother and she's not one of my faves. Dear God! We're going to be in-laws!

*i need to reel myself in*

But wait! Who in the hell is talking about having girlfriends / boyfriends in kindergarten??

I got "married" on the school bus when I was in the fifth grade - the way kids grow up these days, Kindergarten sounds about right!

Well, of course the little trollop has good taste. Who wouldn't go for this kid?

good eye Cheri. Yep. DH works at KU, so I figure they've bought our support.

I love the first day of school photo. Like the teacher will make a man out of the monster. (Not that I am saying he is a monster).

Man, those guys will have the girls falling all over them- more than they do know! I was a fan of the dark hair, dark skin, dark eyed boys, myself. (even though I married a Finn)
