My friend Margaret Anne bought red footie pajamas and made felt mittens that looked like lobster claws for her daughter when she was a baby. It was too cute. and one year the boys were a doughnut and a cup of dunkin donuts coffee. and one year her daughter was a pile of leaves (she stapled fake leaves to a dark brown turtleneck.)

        Re: halloween

I made DH's Thing 1 and Thing 2 costumes last year with red sweat suits, white felt and blue wigs. The most expensive part was the wigs, if an adult or older child wants to borrow them I'm happy to mail them (the wigs) as long as you send them back to me afterwards - we're not dressing up this year.

We were going to throw our 2nd annual Halloween party but on of our friends is throwing her husband a surprise 30th birthday party that night so we'll throw another one next year.

You had me for a second there. That's my sister's name. She doesn't have kids, though. And she goes by "Mags"

Your Margaret Anne sounds quite creative!

DS is going as...a doctor. Lame, I know, but it's free. My MIL bought him kiddie scrubs a couple of months ago. Throw in a Fisher-Price stethescope and a disposable scrub cap and we're done.

He wears those scrubs all the time in the evening (I won't let him wear them to daycare). He carries around this giant Lego block thing and announces that "I'm on night shift. Not day shift, night shift. I have to go see my broken people and the nurses."

Then the dog hides (DS goes after her to take her blood pressure...).

I love that!!! I would give them tons of candy for the trio.

I can't wait until we have kids old enough for trick or treating (is one month too young)...I never went trick or treating....never. Growing up in NYC doesn't always allow for that kind of evening activity...

                Danielle - I can't believe you've NEVER been trick-or-treating. I'm sorry to hear that.

DH took one look at the picture and said "Boba Fet - sweet!"
