That's good-- I was going to ask about wet diapers.

You are totally right to be concerned about weight loss-- we don't want any weight loss of any growing kids, especially babies! But babies go through weird cycles..

Did they have any good suggestions as to how to get over the bottle avoidance?

You mentioned earlier that she really liked the rice cereal-- can you start supplementing her with that? That will help fill her tummy, and for my kids who had mild reflux it helped to limit the spit up...

Hang in there alison. Don't diminish how tough this is! It's very very tough-- I always thought (naively) that feeding babies was *natural* and *easy*... So not true!!!

You are doing a FANTASTIC job with her. I am glad she is eating something and still wetting. Hang in there!

As far as knocking on your neighbor's door. I probably would. The worst that happens is he is an ass about it. The second worse would be no help at all and maybe he would be gracious and helpful.

        ITA!

I'm glad she likes the nursettes and that is helping with getting her to eat. I too would be concerned about the weight loss. I checked the baby books and DD1 weighed about 12.5 lbs and DD2 13.5 lbs at 4 months, fwiw.

Good to know that a week or two is what it typically takes though it might feel like a long week. You'll get there! Go Team M!

Thank you! You've all been far too kind.

I always beat myself up about stuff like this. This girl is wearing me out! MAN!

So, the aversion is not just to bottles, I've discovered... The reflux association also extends to ---- BURPIES and BIBS! She doesn't want to have anything to do with them. So, it's a huge mother f-ing mess whenever I do manage to get the bottle in her mouth.

This one is going into her baby book. And then she can thank me every single Mother's Day for eternity for this.

Hang in there, you are doing great! I love the fact that you can already think of this all in terms of a baby book entry!!!

How is she doing Alison? Is it getting any easier yet or is she truly stubborn?

Just saw this today - doesn't really look like a normal bottle...

Self-heating, no less. My dd doesn't care if her bottle is heated or not, but it might come in handy for mom's coffee...

Thanks for asking, guys. She's doing much better and doesn't scream at her bottle anymore. She prefers not eating to eating, but at least it's not a huge struggle each and every time. She has to be starving to accept the bottle, and even if she is, she will only take in 1-2 oz to take the edge off her hunger, and then push the rest away.

Dh and I are up every 2 hours with her at night, which is super tiring, but we do what we gotta do... I'm not even going to mess with her sleep schedule right now.

My bil and his girlfriend arrive in about a week and a half, and are staying with us. And boy are they in for a treat. They get to witness that dd is up every 2 hours, and that I've got the Baby Einstein Musical Activity Center going full blast at 6am. Keyword here: MUSICAL.

What are the doctors saying? Do they have any better suggestion? 2 hr feedings are killer...

Well, the prevacid isn't really working for dd, but we are giving it another week, after which we are to take her to a pediatric GI.

She was up every hour last night. Dh and I alternate, but that still gives us each only a two hour stretch of sleep. Tomorrow, dh has a long (and boring) case, so I'll be doing all of tonights wakings. He can't risk falling asleep in th OR!

This is pretty awful. I feel terrible for dd, and wish there were something I could do for her. There's lots of screaming in this house these days... Hopefully she outgrows this sooner rather than later.

That's awful. I hope the pediatric GI has more ideas. I wish I could help you at least get a nap.
