Oh wow, I really hope that she has a similar experience as your DH! I'd be frustrated finding out just now, too, though. I agree about not comparing. There was another wife in DH's program who had a girl about 2 weeks after I had DS, and she was crazy-smart, like your examples. It made me nervous about DS at times.

My sister is a pediatric physical therapist, so she does a ton with development. What she always tells me is that there is a lot of consensus that kids only develop in one area at a time. Some kids pick up a little physical skill, then verbal, then social so they seem kind of "balanced," but others are very physical and develop cognitive stuff later, or vice versa. All three of my kids have had VERY different abilities and skill sets at the same ages. My oldest didn't walk until she was 17 months old, but could speak paragraphs by age two and would engage the most reluctant of strangers. We did see a developmental ped bc we were concerned and it gave me SO much reassurance.-Deb
