Oh yeah, the BOB weighs 80 lbs when fully loaded. But it's the only decent jogger on the market, I've done the research! Lack of a BOB triple jogger is a rate limiting step for #3 and no I'm not kidding.

If you want a BOB, they just came out with all their new models so the old ones will be heavily discounted moving forward. And of course the new ones have hand brakes which I'm so jealous of. Mine pulls me downhill like woah.

But doesn't sound like that's what you want. We use our BOB for everything and it does fit thru doors but it's not the easiest at all if you have to collapse it to store it. I found the city mini double to have a very easy collapse. Keep in mind though that it's still pretty heavy/unwieldy to actually lift.

Yeah, the size issue and being able to collapse it easily are both important to me, based on how we'll be using it. I was asking about the jogging aspect because we live a block from a great park with lots of trails, and ideally I wish I could use it for exercise, too. But since it sounds like I can't have it all, I think the britax or city mini are going to be my best options.
I'm not planning on making the purchase for a few months, so hopefully I can test both options out to see if I have a preference.

The BOB collapses easily, it's just not liftable easily. Honestly, none of the double strollers are unless it's a light umbrella stroller. The City Mini Double felt almost as unwieldy and hard to lift as the double BOB. If you're just folding it, it should be fine but if you have to fold it AND lift it somewhere, I might recommend something lighter that the britax or the city mini (or the BOB).

Could you get a tarp and cover it outside so you don't have to collapse it and carry it inside? Carrying a double (or even single) stroller while herding two kids is damn near impossible.

Yes. This is where the Britax really beats the others. It's just super easy to fold and move around. Britax is also bringing out their new models so some places will have floor models for great prices. If I was planning to run and not be moving the stroller in and out of the car I'd get the Bob for sure.

The tarp might be an option, we just get so much rain here that I'm not sure. Otherwise, another option would be to clear out a space to store it (folded) in the mudroom. Right now, I herd DS into the mudroom, close the door, then run out to the shed to get the (single) Bob and bring it to the back door to load him in. It's a real pain.
I've already told DH our fellowship house must have a garage!

We store ours set-up (unfolded) in our shed. It's a pain to get at anything else in the shed but I use the stroller almost every day. I literally wheel it in and close the door on it. It's a tight squeeze but it's worth it. Is that approach an option for you?

The issue with two is that my little one wants to be in arms/I couldn't leave them alone together initially (I was worried for DD2's safety) so muscling around a stroller wasn't an option. That's why we store ours fully set-up so I can carry out DD2 and plop her in and then herd DD1 into the stroller.

That's pretty much what we do now. The issue is that our shed door is really narrow, and I don't think any doubles will fit through unfolded. We'll figure something out, I'm sure.

This is our set up :/ no room in the garage!

FWIW I just took both kids out in the city mini and tried jogging a little. It was HARD but not impossible for jogging at low speeds. Granted I've got 60 lbs of chunker kids in there. If you have hills in the area, a brisk walk will actually be a pretty good workout.

The single is on our porch while I contemplate what the heck to do for extra room in our garage.

The answer is usually vertical space. Tall/high shelves, and if you have the overhead space, those hang-from-the-ceiling storage things for stuff you rarely use.

DH says no more ladders and saws right now. He is no fun!

So next question: how old was your youngest when you started using the double? I'd like to avoid buying the car seat adapter unless I can find one for cheap on Craigslist.

ST - our setups look similar except mine are in the dining room. Citi select and baby trend expedition jogger parked side by side.

I was okay putting baby j in the mini around 3-4 months. He is huge and had good head control from birth though

For true jogging, we used the car seat adaptor until 6 months for both the single and the double. For walks, I would have done no-adaptor at 4-5 months. You can find them on CL though, they run about $50 new so not that expensive on CL.

I would totally put my double bob in the house if I had to. It's my fourth love after DH and my children.
