I just helped a friend install a crib tent and had never heard of them before that. Freaking genius invention for kids who like to climb and wander!
And I'd put very little stock in what a hippy baby store employee says. A lot of the people I know who try to do this "free range baby" shtick just end up with feral kids. Not all, but a LOT.Last edited by diggitydot; 08-02-2011, 04:46 PM.Comment

We put together the tent and dh is putting M down for bed now. We'll see... She wanted to get into it, and when we zipped her up, she watched us very closely. I'm a little worried now that she knows how to operate it.
She's got her PJs on backwards and a sleep sack on -- also backwards.

She fell asleep quickly.
I rocked her for 2.5 hours this afternoon while she slept. When all was said and done, we could have both used a shower--mI was hot underneath all that weight! And we don't have an ottoman.

After 5 minutes if trying to get to the zipper, she gave up.
I felt awful at first, because it's like watching a bug in a sink--struggle struggle struggle, and then give in to the water whooshing it down the sink.
She has been sleeping for almost 2.5 hours now. I know she needs this nap!
