We do showers too...it does calm N down and seems to be really soothing. And a hell of a lot easier than baths! However I know you might not be comfortable with this due to your injury. I have DH standing outside the shower the entire time and it still makes me a little nervous.

Showers = good advice. Very soothing. I think the warm water on the skin is comforting to them or something. Or may e they just can't suck in enough air to give a full-lunged wail when water is spraying on their faces. Just be careful. Those little suckers are slippery.

We never bathed our infants. Always popped 'em in the shower. Dad would hold and soap, then pass off to Mom for towel-drying.

Hugs. Crying wailing babies suck! Totally tugs a mama's heart strings.

I will try the showers. I will try anything. I am about to lose it listening to her scream every night. It makes me so sad. I'm going to look up massage and get some gripe water today too. Anything is worth a try.

I'm so sorry you guys are still struggling. Did you make an appointment to get back into the pediatrician you like yet? If there's anything I can do for you (live and in person), please let me know.

I wanted to add earlier that where I took dd for infant massage was more like a baby class, where we learned te techniques. The other babies were like aaaaaaahhhhh, luxury! And mine was screaming and crying the whole time. She did not like to be on her back for the class, bc of the reflux.

Once that was under control, dd really liked the massages I'd give her.

I hope you find something that works!!!

Not to beat a dead horse, but try the 5 S's, too! You don't need to read the book right now. There are YouTube videos, and there's a DVD for it.

Update: I now nurse her sitting up (as in, she sits up and I lay down), we're giving her gripe water/simethicone px every night, and we have totally bagged bedtime in favor of just startin gthe night cosleeping. Nightly screaming is now averaging only 1 hour vs. 3 before.

This is an improvement. And the other pedi said I'm SO NOT overfeeding her.
