Anyone have any tips on keeping a hat and mittens on a 15 month old who HATES wearing anything on his head or hands?

Years ago REI sold clips called "mitten cats" or something like that. My kids mostly left them alone.
Now I buy 10 pairs of those super cheap black stretchy gloves and place them in a basket by the door. They're interchangeable and like 50 cents a pair. Otherwise we would never be able to keep up.In my dreams I run with the Kenyans.
