I've got my old medical charts, and I plotted out my curve. It's a little different, because I was a twin born at 35 weeks.

    I went from 5lbs 1oz at birth (21%) to 7lbs 8oz at 1m (41%), 9lbs 15oz at 2m (52%), and then 11lbs at 4m (14%). So, I had a very similar drop.

Excellent advice - some, you just click with, and some you really don't.
It wasn't a hospital LC that I turned to, but an IBCLC certified one that worked for a breastfeeding/maternity store. Her name is Traci, I met with her weekly at a support group for BFing moms, and she was my lifesaver.

Has anybody taken domperidine or anything to increase supply? I talked to the LC again today and they recommended that. They said I am doing everything possible, and my supply should continue to increase over the next couple of weeks, but the meds might help too.

It's stressful when they aren't on the curve.

My 10 year old as the same way (he is now in the 3rd percentile). It sounds like you're working really hard to pump and make sure she's getting enough. Don't put too much on yourself. Like the others said, supplementing isn't bad. We started the kids on cereal between 4-6 months depending on their appetite and personality.

I took domperidone and it was a miracle for me. Let me know if you have any specific questions. I have pretty much nothing but great things to say about it.

I exclusively pumped for all my kids and took supplements recommended at kellymom. Fenugreek and I think milk thistle? At any rate my first morning pump always yielded 35-40 oz which I credit completely to the supplements.

Thanks OG! The nurse said she'd talk to the doctor tomorrow, so waiting to hear back from her and see if he OKs it.

I've been taking the Motherlove More Milk supplements, but I don't think they've helped a ton. My supply has increased over the last week or so, I'd just really like it to double or so at this point. The most I've ever pumped at one time was 5oz, and my max daily is about 11oz from 5 pumping sessions, with about 5 nursing sessions on top of that.

I don't remember specific amounts, but I went from producing almost nothing to having more than enough milk within one or two weeks of starting domperidone. Then after a month or so I started gradually weaning myself off. My hospital LC (who recommended it) said doctors at my hospital are reluctant to prescribe it to patients, but they frequently write scripts for each other (and specifically, she said many of the residents write scripts for other residents) when they need to up their supplies for pumping.

We ended up buying a deep freezer for our basement, which I completely filled with frozen milk by the time I stopped pumping. I hope I don't need it the second time around, but it's nice to know domperidone is an option in certain situations.

The LC seemed to think my OB would be happy to prescribe it. His nurse seemed OK with it too, she just needed to wait until tomorrow to talk to him. I do think things are getting better - I just need to relax and be patient.

personally i would suggest you just add formula to the breast milk. think of the bigger picture here--healthy baby is more important. so breast milk is great and all--BUT if you're kid is not getting enough.. you don't have a choice.

I haven't run out of pumped milk yet, so she is getting enough that we don't need formula quite yet.

I did get a prescription for Reglan, so I'll start that tonight and see if it helps without making me crazy. I have been slowly pumping more, I think, but she's constantly eating more. Today she took 14oz at daycare with 5oz bottles at 9:30 and 12:10 and 4oz at 2:45. That just seems like so much!

Did she still want more at the end of the bottles or was she able to feel satisfied and then stop?

Those amounts seem about right. How old is she exactly?

                              Sorry you're dealing with this.

If it's helpful, my son got 18oz of breastmilk at daycare (3 feedings, 6oz each) at 4-7 months, plus breastfeeding in the morning and evening and at night. He's a big kid though.

(We've now transitioned to formula during the day. I got tired of pumping.)

Mine eats (and her big sister ate) about 15 oz per day from 9-5:30 with our nanny. I got really close to running out many times but as I said before, she's so close to solids, I might do that first.
