Reviving this because mine are 15 weeks and still seem to need the swaddle. When did you finally stop?
We are just transitioning them into their cribs this week, so I'm afraid to shake things up too much, but worried that it's becoming unsafe. Both have rolled front to back and look like they are working on rolling back to front - but aren't quite there yet.
I tried one arm out (or both out) a few times and they just don't sleep as well. Think it's ok to keep swaddling for a few more weeks?

Oh wow, I think mine were about 3 or 4 months old before they rolled and had to stop. As long as they're not rolling, and you have a monitor so you'll hear if they cry, you're probably ok. The first few times they roll are enough effort and kind of startling to them, so they'll probably wake themselves up if it happens in their sleep. I'd work on transitioning away from swaddling asap, though, if they're showing signs of back to front rolling.Laurie

We swaddled until almost 5 months, because DD could roll front to back long before she could do back to front. We stopped using it within a couple weeks of moving her into her own crib though, because when I wasn't right next to her anymore it seemed less safe.Wife of PGY-4 (of 6), cat herder, and mom to a sassy-pants four-nager.

I stopped swaddling when E rolled over in it, and we went to sleep sacks for a while until she grew out of the ones we had and I didn't get around to ordering new ones.

I'm going to give them a full week in their cribs before I throw another curve ball at them. Then I'll try one arm out again.
I'm REALLY over the monitor. They are so freaking grunty and groany. It's nonstop noise and I don't get much sleep. DH thinks we should just turn the volume off since they are right across the hall - but I'm nervous.
Ugh. I'm not cut out for this mom thing!!!!

Yes, just turn the sound off or very low on the monitor. If they need you, you'll hear them even with the volume super low.
We swaddled DS1 for a long time because that's how he slept best. I forget the specifics now, but I remember talking to our ped about it and he said we could continue swaddling for as long as DS1 liked it. He said babies will tell you when they're done with it, usually by breaking out over and over.

Give yourself loads of grace -- if turning off the sound will make you a basket case, don't do it.
If having the sound on is making you a basket case, turn it off for a few nights and see how you do.
It's all going to even out and be okay, I promise.
