We got the carseat protector! I'm also debating potty options for the car. For now, we'd just bring a regular potty that we have (I just ordered a second one to go in the master bathroom). She'll use the big potty at home too sometimes, depending on her mood. She came home still in panties - I'm not sure if it was the same pair or not, but they didn't send home a dirty pair. I forgot to bring her folder to school, so I didn't get her daily report, and the aftercare teachers dind't seem to have a lot of information other than the fact that she went to the potty a lot. I think overall she's doing really well though.

So she was accident free yesterday. They did put a pull up on at one point in the morning because I guess she said she had to poop but wouldn't do it in the potty, but then they put her panties on after that.

Oy, we've been kind of potty training forever. Now he just waits until he's wearing a diaper (nap and bedtime) to poop. DH doesn't want to push it, and he's the pediatrician, so I'm not. But it would be great to have him actually potty trained instead of perpetually training.

When DD got to the point where she could pee but not poop in the potty, I took a break from training and went with pull-ups for a month-ish. I can see how that might confuse some kids, but she never backtracked on the peeing, and the pooping eventually happened with less frustration.

She pooped in the potty tonight! She only had one accident today, at school, and I think it was while she was at the indoor playground and probably waited too long to go.

One accident yesterday - we had just gotten home, and she said she had to go potty, but then she got sidetracked trying to "fix" the door, and I had gone to put C down, and I came back and her pants were all wet. Today she had a poop accident at school, but I didn't get details. Poop is still her biggest issue. Tonight we put a pull up on her so hubby could take her to pick up dinner quickly, and she pooped in the Pull Up shortly after we got home. She knew as soon as she started, but not soon enough to get to the potty. She was upset about it, but we tried to just be encouraging and tell her that accidents happen, and next time we'll try to make it to the potty.

Sounds like she's doing great! Especially since she's so busy at school during the day. C still has accidents now and then, usually when he's distracted and starts to pee before he can get to the potty. He's been without diapers/pull ups for two days and is doing well. He will poop in the potty but doesn't realize he's not just peeing until after. Sometimes he says it's gas. I don't think he really has the different sensations figured out yet.

Still doing really well, all things considered. No pee accidents since last week, and we've even left the house in panties a few times, other than going to school. Still having problems with poop. She went once in the potty the other night after having tried like a dozen times with no success. But she's had one accident and gone in a pull-up several other times. She knows when she has to go, I think she just has a hard time making it happen, and then when it does she just can't always hold it or get to the potty fast enough, and sometimes she says she's scared.

Poop is a whole other ballgame -- has she said what she's afraid of? (Falling in, being flushed down the toilet, the sound of the toilet)

She hasn't. We just keep trying to reassure her that it's OK, and we don't get upset when she has accidents. And we're giving a bit of Miralax to make sure that it's all soft. I'll try to ask her more tomorrow. She does best when we just ignore her, for the most part.

Pooping is hard for them. They clench up when they feel it coming because it's such a different sensation than going in a diaper. We had some luck reading books and just letting them sit for awhile.

                            Potty training

D has been potty trained since Feb for pee but only in the last two weeks has stopped pooping in her pull up at nap. Basically because I told her that she couldn't go to school if she kept doing it (she desperately wants to be like big sister).

I think it takes them a long time to get used to the sensation enough in advance to do anything.
