Well, coming from a state that embraced the Hard Tail gear like no tomorrow, I can officially say that leggings/tights have become full-on pants. We're talking no rear coverage, tights as pants. Sometimes lighter colored and slightly see-through, which allows the color and shape of all undergarments (or lack thereof??) to be seen. The offending outfit of choice appears to be form-fitting tops (usually low cut also) hitting at about the navel, with said tights and a high to mid-calf boot.
I can't tell you how much vag I see on a daily basis from my students. It's truly disturbing. *sigh*
Now, I'm all for the tights/leggings/jeggings with appropriate tops and vag/hiney coverage, but that's not what's happening out here.

Yes I saw a preggo woman in the airport wearing tights/thin leggings as pants. I know its hard to find comfortable maternity clothes but please cover your bum and hooha if the leggings are thin/see through.

Amen! When I worked at the all-girls school, I would tell them, "I have my own parts - I don't need to see yours!"

What? OMG.... I don't know how I would react if I saw something like this. Now that I'm 40, I bet I couldn't resist saying something to her......holy hooha's batman!

Finally looked at this thread. I can't believe anyone wears these! Well, I guess I can but you won't catch me dead in them! Ick. Reminds me of sturip pants/jeans from the late 80's. Yes, I committed that sin, but I was only 13/14 after all. Never again! Some trends should stay dead! The darn black leggings that have been in fashion in ny for over a year are pretty awful too. Last year it was the long tops that went with the leggings, now it's short tops. Ick. I just don't want to see anyones ass or crotch in that much detail - even if you have buns of steel. I just don't wanna see it! Bleck!

Imagine those about .... you know ... 100 times larger. They really look like jeans (and they aren't super tight)
These don't look that bad. I still wouldn't wear them though. Kuddos for having the guts!

Stirrup pants. Ha. I almost forgot about those! Stirrup pants with an oversized knit sweater. The height of fashion circa 1988.

I just bought a pair of black denim jeggings for my 11 year old...and she won't wear anything else now. So, I guess they do have their market. I don't think I can pull off tight pants. No pun intended.....

I saw a girl at the train station in Philly wearing flats, jeggings and leg warmers and I nearly broke in to the Fame song. Actually, I DID break in to the Fame song, in my head. and then I discovered that my zipper was down after going to the public bathroom which was karma getting me back for laughing at Fame girl.

I don't know ... but on to stirrup pants. I lived in those suckers in high school. My favorites were light pink with white lace swirls sewn in...I wore it with my dad's oversize white button up shirt, a neon pink tank top underneath and my white lace shoes (with pink socks!).

memories...light the corners of my mind....
