I do 5 loads every week. 2 loads of my and DH's clothes, 1 load for DS#1, 1 load for DS#2, and 1 load of sheets and towels. I try to split it up between 2 days of the week (usually Mondays and Saturdays) so I don't get overwhelmed or stuck doing laundry all day long.

I do at least one load a day. Usually it's two loads. It probably works out to about 10 loads a week (including a load of sheets and at least one load of towels). It can probably be broken down thusly:

    - Towels (at least one load - often two per week)
    - Sheets
    - dh and I white clothes
    - dh and I red-toned clothes
    - dh and I darks
    - my delicates
    - kids white clothes
    - kids red and pink clothes
    - kids darks (usually two loads of these)
    - dh's work clothes (heavy duty military uniform)

      Re: Laundry

Having read everyone's responses now I just have to say that I'm surprised at how little laundry I have to do with comparatively so many more people! Proportionally I should be doing probably around 20 loads a week compared to what you all are doing. But, somehow I'm only at around 10 (maybe 12 on a bad week) loads of laundry per week for eight people. Scratching my head....

This might shed some light. Today DH woke up in a T-shirt and boxers. He changed into cycling gear (jersey/shorts/socks) and went for a ride. He got home, took a shower, turned around and put on a t-shirt, cycling shorts, shorts, and socks to go to the gym. After the gym he'll be putting on scrubs (undershirt, scrub top, scrub pants, socks) for work.

By contrast, Eddy has been naked all day. In our household it's not the kid(s) that make the laundry.
