*Let me preface this with that it is probably the stupidest question ever, but I am going to blame hormones because I cannot freaking make a decision... so I come to you for advice.
We picked out our crib, and dresser.
They will be in our loft which has yet to be walled off... we used the measurements the contractor gave us, but not realizing that he was including drywall and what not, in order to fit both the crib and the dresser, and leave 2.5 feet to get into the closet both the dresser and crib would be only about ONE inch apart, and the dresser would be either flush to the corner or be an inch away from the wall.
[2.5 feet to access closet on other wall] [Crib] [1 inch] [Dresser] [Wall/corner].
They do have another dresser which is 11 inches shorter, but I just don't like it as much. It looks a little too much like baby furniture. I know I am being totally silly, and just need to get over it, but I am having trouble deciding what to do. The other three walls are pretty much out (I've tried other arrangements) because they include a window, a closet, and bookshelves the length of the wall. It also has to do with wanting to put the lazy boy in the corner so you don't trip over it as you walk in the room (I want an open flow).
I really want the larger dresser, but will it be 1) dangerous having the dresser so close to the crib (I do intend to use a crib tent later on, and the dresser is only 18 inches deep, but a climber will climb anything)? and/or 2) will it look rediculous to have the dresser and crib that close together?
This is stupid I know, but please humor a crazy pregnant lady and give me your thoughts. (DH has been on call so I haven't discussed it with him yet).
