Ike's is only 15-20 min from me. I'll meet you there!

And they're opening a Trader Joe's pretty close to IKEA. I smell a meetup! Seriously, come whenever...I bet you could use the support right now. We'll envelop you in supportive IMSNerness

This was my curtain solution: twin sized bed sheets hung with command strips. Classy!

          - ETA, I'm not sure why the walls look orange... They're just a neutral light beige.

I'd love an Ikea meetup, and I can't wait to go to a TJs and see what all the fuss is about.

Laurie - that beats what I have over one window right now. A ratty ass towel tacked up with 2 nails. Styling!

I'm going to temporaryly hang sheets with tape. Think it will be a bit before we can afford to buy rods, fabric etc.

Thought I'd update this. I decided to go the route of diy for the curtain rods. I found several tutorials online for making them out of electrical conduit. So far I've put up rods in the living room, dining room and O's bedroom. In the living room I used curtain hooks to hang some sheets until I get around to making curtains for it. I am about one line of stitching away from completing all the panels of curtains for O's room. I also have the fabric ready to sew for the dining room. I'm stuck right now as I had to take my sewing machine to the repairman on Friday. I'm hoping I get it back soon so I can get on with this project. If anyone is curious the curtain rods were easy and cheap! I left them bare metal cause I like the look but they can be painted as well. I'll post some pics soon from my phone.

What did you do for finials? I have been tempted to DIY using conduit, but I cannot find any finials with set screws, the only ones I've see require that you screw into a hole drilled into wood (or the like).

Ahhh, I used cap ends or metal hole plugs.

I also considered using drawer pulls that you could slide in or glue/tape in.

Here are a few pics from O's room. He picked out the fabric.

Hmmm, did you glue these on? I wonder if finials or pulls could be added if a hole was drilled into the plug... I love doing things on the cheap and this gives me some great ideas.

No. I didn't glue them. They have little prongs on them that keep them from falling out. I also read of people screwing finals into cork (from a wine bottle) and inserting it into the end of the pole.
