I'm in love with one of those jenn-airs! Love love love the knobs on the side instead of right in front. I always spill crap on the knobs. Prolly why they don't work!!

I love my Blue Star, it'll have to be pried from my cold dead hands. When I was doing research for it (5 years ago), many people were complaining about their newer Vikings. Around here the official repair guys handles all high end appliances and knows which ones he has to fix the most. I'd call one of those places and ask them. If you go to Viking/Sub-Zero/Bosch/Miele website, they'll list all your local repair places.

MPS, yep, put it between the burner and the pot. I think they make small silpats but since I don't bake anymore I've been using my sheet pan sized ones. Probably keeps it cleaner because spatters just end up on the silpat.
Vishenka, that is a GREAT idea. My neighbor put all Viking in her kitchen, even though they only planned on staying in the house 4-5 years. It's been empty now for two, because their asking price is so high to recoup the cost of upgrades and spendy appliances. (she also ripped out the BRAND NEW cabinetry and got some super high end cabinets, which to my eyes, looked just like the others. She swapped dark cherry for dark cherry. Dumb.)
