Our Bosch in our Boston apt was awesome. The one we bought here sucks. I think it varies. Hope yours is great! At least you have one now.

And...I hate it.

It is ridiculously quiet and I cant say it doesn't clean (but it isn't knocking my socks off or anything), but it is the lack of heated dry that is DRIVING ME INSANE. The condensation dry crap is well, crap. Apparently if you empty it within a certain period of time or something like that its better, but yeah, I don't have time for that shit. The dishwasher gets emptied when it gets emptied. The glass/ceramics/silverware are sometimes pretty dry, but not always. The glass bottles are NEVER dry inside, so I have to leave them on the counter to dry. The plastics (and I have small children so there are many) are always sopping.

And of course the condo we stayed in had the exact kitchenaid we almost bought. And it was perfect. Oh well. I think we could maybe still return it, but that's just not feasible right now.

Run it at night, empty it in the morning. I have three kids, we've never had an issue using that system.

As someone who has lived through a few years of a truly crappy Bosch, I agree. RETURN IT. Don't be me.

I had no idea you could return a dishwasher that's been installed. Yes, return it. If you like a dish dryer, get one with a dryer. Look for the features you need!

We do run it at night, but when it gets emptied is a crapshoot depending on what is going on that day. Ideally DH does it.

I need to check if it can actually be returned at all. It's from a Sears Outlet, so I'm not sure.

We have a Kenmore. It's fantastic. It isn't even top of the line (I think it was $400). I would try to return that sucker.

We couldn't return ours. Also a Sears outlet Bosch.

We decided to buy a KitchenAid Architect II series. I can't bear another year of this crappy thing, even if it is relatively new. Anyone have any opinions?

I'm not totally sure what particular kitchen aid was in the condo but it was new and really awesome

This thread is making me realize my housekeeping standards are way way low.
ST I hope you get it worked out!

Reviving this thread because our dishwasher just died this afternoon. We had a Bosch, but I was never in love and after reading this thread I'm leaning toward trying something else. I don't want to spend too much. My only real must have is hidden controls. Any thoughts on a KitchenAid dishwasher?

OrionGrad, funny because I was just thinking about this thread the other day. I've gotten used to the Bosch's non-heated dry and it doesn't really bother me anymore. It's also taken a crap ton of abuse from a certain toddler.

That being said, I'd go for a KitchenAid if I ever have to buy one again.
