It's good...but follow the food plan. I...did not. And while I gained muscle, I didn't lose any weight!

I hear you all talking about it again. It's making me consider it.
I'm curious about the food plan though. I don't do protein shakes or power bars. Do you think it would work even if we don't follow the food plan?
Maybe Russ and I should just do Wii fit?

Michele, I think P90X might be hard for you just because of the time commitment...60-90 minutes a day. Beachbody has some other good programs like Slim in 6 that are a little shorter though. I have P90x and Insanity (shorter but harder) if you want to check them outMarried to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.

Michele, I am starting ChaLean extreme, seems to get better reviews than P90X and has a 5 day/wk plan and less than an hour per work out. I'll let you know what I think. It's also a Beachbody product.Tara

Yeah, 60-90 minutes will be too much. I was trying to find something that Russ and I can do together.
Let me know what you think Pollyanna! Less than an hour sounds much more doable!

Actually the original tae Bo worked great for dh and I....some of the workouts were only 30 minutes and we got a good laugh out of billy and his crew. We have p90x but not enough time to do it. It was a great workout pre kids.Danielle

I completely agree. It was initially created for people that were already fit and already regular exercisers but they wanted to push it to the next level. It was never for the average Joe looking to start a fitness program.Married to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.

DH & I did our second installment of P90X last night. The toddlers try to do it with us - haha! I had to stop partway through to feed the baby, but that's totally fine - I couldn't keep up with the entire plyometrics session anyway. So far, I actually really like it. I'm being careful not to overdo it at first.
I haven't started the menu part of it. I think we'll just skip that... or maybe I'll start into it slowly. Menus are a lot harder for me than exercise.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that I kicked DH's BUTT on the ab section! (If you could see my post-partum abs - which will never again be seen in a bikini - you'd know how funny this is.)

The P90X workout room is so steely black & grey that may need to affix a pink bow to the screen to balance it out.
Have you "met" Draya yet? The aerialist in the combat boots? She always annoyed me for some reasonMarried to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.

DH built a frame around a pass-through area so we could have a steel bar. It looks like we're in the middle of a construction zone, but it works pretty well for the bands.
