It's good...but follow the food plan. I...did not. And while I gained muscle, I didn't lose any weight!

BUT did you lose inches? You looked great in your wedding dress! I always say, I do not care if I am 500 lbs (ok maybe not that much) as long as I am healthy, toned, and look good in my clothes.
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

Only one measly inch around my waist

But like I said...I didn't follow the food plan and it was more like P120X. I definitely got more toned, though

I hear you all talking about it again. It's making me consider it.

I'm curious about the food plan though. I don't do protein shakes or power bars. Do you think it would work even if we don't follow the food plan?

Maybe Russ and I should just do Wii fit?

Michele, I think P90X might be hard for you just because of the time commitment...60-90 minutes a day. Beachbody has some other good programs like Slim in 6 that are a little shorter though. I have P90x and Insanity (shorter but harder) if you want to check them out

Michele, I am starting ChaLean extreme, seems to get better reviews than P90X and has a 5 day/wk plan and less than an hour per work out. I'll let you know what I think. It's also a Beachbody product.

Yeah, 60-90 minutes will be too much. I was trying to find something that Russ and I can do together.

Let me know what you think Pollyanna! Less than an hour sounds much more doable!

Actually the original tae Bo worked great for dh and I....some of the workouts were only 30 minutes and we got a good laugh out of billy and his crew. We have p90x but not enough time to do it. It was a great workout pre kids.

I did the first workout yesterday and boy do I feel it today. This is for sure one the guys would like because the main focus is heavy weights and working to muscle fatigue. I like weights so I think this will be right up my alley. The workout was 35 minutes and you are working hard the entire time. Completely doable for a busy mom and dad.

I completely agree. It was initially created for people that were already fit and already regular exercisers but they wanted to push it to the next level. It was never for the average Joe looking to start a fitness program.

FIL has been able to keep it up for almost 2 years. But he is crazy and does it at 4:30 in the morning. He wasn't a regular exerciser, but was in relatively good shape. I think I would get bored with it eventually, but it wasn't a bad kick start. I actually enjoyed Tony Horton's personality, believe it or not

DH & I did our second installment of P90X last night. The toddlers try to do it with us - haha! I had to stop partway through to feed the baby, but that's totally fine - I couldn't keep up with the entire plyometrics session anyway. So far, I actually really like it. I'm being careful not to overdo it at first.

I haven't started the menu part of it. I think we'll just skip that... or maybe I'll start into it slowly. Menus are a lot harder for me than exercise.

The P90X workout room is so steely black & grey that may need to affix a pink bow to the screen to balance it out. We did upper-body weights last night (NOT usually my thing). There were a few where I could hardly do one rep, and I was definitely taking advantage of cheater's versions, but I still really liked the workout. The fact that I can't keep up right now actually makes it more likely that I'll stick with it - it's a good challenge.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that I kicked DH's BUTT on the ab section! (If you could see my post-partum abs - which will never again be seen in a bikini - you'd know how funny this is.)

I always got annoyed when they threw the bands up over the bars affixed to the ceiling to do shoulder work. Uhh...most people don't have steel bars hanging out of their ceiling!

Have you "met" Draya yet? The aerialist in the combat boots? She always annoyed me for some reason

YES! She's always off doing her own thing. You could make a reality TV show out of her.

DH built a frame around a pass-through area so we could have a steel bar. It looks like we're in the middle of a construction zone, but it works pretty well for the bands.
