Five pounds away from my first big goal weight. I still remember getting to this same goal weight after my first pregnancy and seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. I also remember telling DH that I would never be above that weight again. Pregnancy is a bitch.

I paid the registration fee for my 5K race in November. Another training day tomorrow, so I just got done loading up the ipod!

Ran yesterday and today! Total of about 12 miles in a week. Toward the end it was easier to breathe. At least I am getting my butt moving, but I remember this being easier in college.

Instead I am going to eat healthy and exercise and hopefully that will help me feel better about my body image. It also doesnt help when standing next to my sister who is a marathon running, black belt machine and she used to be the heavy sister.
I have the same thing- people think "you aren't fat" but when I had my body fat checked and my BMI I was in fact overweight. I, too, am trying to get in shape so I am not winded going up stairs or running in the back yard after my little ones.

That is awesome! You go Brandi!

I made it to the gym on Tuesday and did a Total Conditioning class. I took me 3 days to be able to walk normal again. I am hoping that my cold that was given lovingly to me by my son will clear up enough that I can take the class again this coming Tuesday. Another lady in the class and I were both longing for our 16 year old gymnast bodies.

While my sister was not morbidly obese, she was a bit chunky. She went into her Dr for her physical one day and was told if she didn't start working out and getting healthy, her cholesterol was going to be a problem. So she started running. She also started taekwondo.(but that was more for her fear of being attacked). Now she is a black belt and doing a marathon next month. She is amazingly fit and is keeping a blog for her marathon since she is running it through LLS and is raising money for it. If you would like to read it send me a PM (since I think this isn't a private room).

I am hoping that I can at least get halfway to were she is. I would like to maybe one day do a half marathon. The thought of a full marathon to me is just... insane. Today I did two miles. Once I can run these two miles with out stopping, then I will move on to bigger and better things... but I think its going to be a while. (the first mile is mostly down hill, and then I turn around and climb back up it)

The best thing about being able to run/jog/walk outside is that when you go a distance, you still have to turn around and walk back, so its not like the treadmill where you can just give up and get off.

My running has hit a MAJOR road block. I'm not sure if its what I am eating or if its my asthma/allergies (which have been terrible) but last week TWICE I tried to go on a run and could not make it past 1.5 miles because of horrible cramps. Finally yesterday I was able to do 3.4 miles (the most I've been doing) but the last mile was a turtles pace because I had cramps and I was having trouble breathing.

I was hoping to increase the distance - I'd like to do a half marathon in the spring - but right now I am just desparately trying to hold onto maintaining 3.4 miles... Arrgh!

Anyone else struggling with asthma/allergies? I'm taking all my rescue inhaler every day and waking up with a scratchy throat/itchy eyes/stuffy nose despite taking benedryl at night and zyrtec during the day.

On a positive note I lost .4 this week despite going out to eat to dinner 4 nights!

Down a jeans size. Well actually I do have muffin top, but my previous size is falling off. I am now officially one size away from my pre-pregnancy size!

Finally got my butt of the couch and went on a bike ride on Sunday and a 30 minute run yesterday! I'm joining the corporate weight loss program and a local running class in October too!
