Does anybody know anything about it? My mom is on it and I'm concerned that it may not be a good plan for her.

All I could come up with was a Google Books search result that says...
1961 - High-protein, high-fat, halitosis-inducing diets return, beginning with Herman Taller's Calories Don't Count and Dr. Irwin Stillman's The Doctor's Quick Weight Loss Plan. These are followed by Dr. Robert Atkins's famed Diet Revolution and Herman Tarnower's Scarsdale diet in the 1970s.
