I'm on day 3 of the 5-1 program.

I'm shocked to discover how much water I am retaining. I literally lost 5 pounds during the first day....I just started day 3 and weighed in to discover that 2 days of dieting caused me to shed 8 pounds of water. Holy crap.

I imagine from here on out, I'll be on the 1-2 pounds a week thing.

I bought 4 weeks of the program from Amazon and am doing it together with my doctor's support. Two years ago I lost 68 pounds (still had weight to lose, btw) but regained 30 of it. boohoo. I have struggled over the last couple of years with maintaining and weight loss hasn't even been on the radar. So .... I've decided to give this a go.

My intention is to use it to jumpstart things and then get back to my weight watchers style of eating. One month I can do. So far, I'm able to do it. I like that all meals are prepackaged and easy to make and that I don't have to think right now about what I'm going to eat. It takes away the worrying, obsessing and choosing. I think that if I can lose 10 actual pounds this month (Ummm...not the water weight that I just shed) then I will be able to feel like I'm back on track. I've been really down on myself about the regain.

    So....there you have it.

Kris - I'd never heard of Medifast but just checked out their website. Good luck! If I'm still hanging on to my extra 66 pounds when we finish I might sign up too!

                Good luck!

One of the things I have been eating post-op are their chili nacho cheese puffs with a chocolate protein shake. Sooooo yummy!

I'm glad you are taking care of you. ITA w/having the food already determined for you. It is really hectic trying to feed a small army & focus on eating proper foods & proportions for yourself...well at least that's a problem of mine. Good luck & yea for you!

Sometimes its so good to just start from ground zero and work your way up to meal planning and all that jazz. Eight pounds of WW is still weight you are not carrying around. It's got to feel wonderful be a little 'less' this week! Are you still working out, or just starting with getting a handle on your diet? Good luck! I can't wait to get your update in 30 days!
