OK...help me brainstorm a week's worth of boot camp exercises to jump start my exercise. Maybe a few of you even want to do this with me?

I can post some of my CrossFit workouts, if that helps. They're pretty short, but they kick some serious ass.

I would be interested to hear what that's all about (especially since I didn't know there was an at-home version).

We've built a CrossFit gym at home, but a lot of the work-outs can be done with little or no equipment. You'll just have to modify.

I have a lot I can think of, too, that can be modified based on ability.
Our daily workouts are strength/cardio, using resistance/leveraging your own body weight.
I see myself possibly drinking the CrossFit kool-aid in the future, once this group niche I am in "expires." (Mom classes that are geared toward taking your children in the stroller with you).

What level do you want to start at Kris? How much time can you do? If you are looking for a quick 20-30 minutes that increases in intensity I can post a link to a challenge that I'm sort of doing. They show a really quick video on what to do each do.

I've started trotting (because in no way can it be called running, lol) on the treadmill and using my sledgehammer for workouts. Holy. CRAP. those are hard.

I did the sledgehammer workout for awhile! The kids were very amused by me. Great for abs.

Today's WOD (workout of the day)

Warm up was 3 rounds of...
-Body weight squats (no weights) x 5
                    -Pull-ups x 5

Work out was 2 rounds of...
-Ice climbers x 25 (50 if you're counting each side individually)
                    -Push Press x 15
                    -Burpees x 10

The whole thing (including warm-up) is less than 30 minutes.

You can YouTube the specific moves and all can be done sans weights. If you have hand weights, they're fine to use, too. The only one that might need specific equipment is the pull-ups. You can get the same motion using tension bands in a shut door. It's not exact, but close enough for beginning.

The thing I like about CrossFit is that EVERYTHING can be modified for fitness and ability levels. I'm ridiculously out of shape, injury-prone, and fat. If I can do this shit, even your half blind and arthritic grandmother can rock these workouts.

I don't know if I'll ever be able to do a pull up. Never have.

How do you like Burpees? Hehe

Oh, burpees can fuck right off. Assholes.

But I can't do a pull-up completely yet, either. I stand no one of our boxes for box jumps as jump/lift myself for each one until I build enough strength.

Lol! I haven't gotten the courage to do a burpee since my knee.

I saw a video at some point of learning to do pull ups. I can't remember if you start by simply hanging, or stand on a box in the up position and master lowering yourself.

At any rate, good on you!!

                            I heart burpees.

Are you doing box jumps? I took one look at mine and said no. Too scared still.
