I did three days! I even went to hot yoga on the last day. I thought I'd pass out, but i was fine. I actually felt pretty great all day on day 3. Today I'm back on food and my stomach is a little gurgly. I've had a salad and some soup. I definitely killed the cravings - I'm not hungry at all. I was a bit dizzy this morning so maybe it was finally catching up to me.
I'm thinking about doing one juice day a week or a regular cleanse once a month. Honestly, it was a good thing.Angie

Oh! I was a full day behind - sorry about that!!!
Great job! It sounded like you handled it better than I did! I eat very frequently - very. It's all healthy (no complex carbs or processed foods), and generally not huge portions. But I usually snack about every two hours. My diet is also very protein heavy, so I'm pretty used to that full feeling. And I like it! Ha!
Anyway - I think that made the cleanse harder than it should have been for me. A bunch of people told me they weren't hungry - they just missed food (which I totally get - I didn't really know what to do with all of the extra time I had. No food prep or cleaning the kitchen - it was great!). But me - no - I was HUNGRY lol. I think I may have also picked the wrong level - it seemed too sugary to me. I couldn't drink the beet juice anyway, so next time I'll do the next level - with more green.
And great job on the yoga!!!! DH and went for a "long" run on day 2 (I think he wanted it to be around 10-12miles) - I made it about 3 and then thought I would pass out and he had to walk me home (which sucked bc home was then 3 miles away!). Day 3 I couldn't workout at all, but strangely I felt pretty great.
I still can't get over what it did for my skin (despite the fact that I found it to be overly sugary). It actually still has an unusually nice glow to it.
As much as I hated it - I felt the same way about doing it more frequently, almost even craving another day. I think I may do a one day soon to see if that helps maintain the results. I need to figure out what day they are delivered to my WFs- they run out of them very quickly (which I find very interesting in this city!!).
Anyway, DH is on call this week - so maybe a good time to try a one day since he'll eat at work most nights anyway. Let me know if pick a day - ill join! (if I can find enough juice. I don't think I'm ready or willing to make my own just yet).

It's 6 juices a day. Blueprint was $75/day. Ive tried a local juice company in Scottsdale in the past, and their juices were about the same price (maybe slightly more). So not sure if you'd save much by going with a local brand. WF looks like they now have their own cold pressed juices that were slightly (very slightly) cheaper. I haven't tried them yet.
So if it's something you'd like to do often, it absolutely makes sense to make them yourself - there are hacks of the recipes all over. It just seems like such a pain (plus I would never be able to cut up a pineapple without having a few bites ).

I just bought a set of 6. They didn't have all the blueprint juices, so I had to supplement with a whole foods brand pineapple something (the POM from blueprint was my fav, so I hope this doesn't disappoint). Both brands were 6.99 each. Not sure what day I'll do it. Monday or Tuesday. I'll probably also
Have coffee - I don't think I'm ready to go to work without a cup....

I'm game. I've been reading up on the 5-2 diet and I'm thinking of combining that type of weekly food plan with a two day modified juicing plan. The juices I used are 7.50 a bottle. Day 2 and three I used 4 bottles only. My only problem with combining it with a 5-2 plan is that in that you would have 2 extreme low cal fasting days and they rec around 500 cal for women. That would rule out the cashew milk juice which was a whopping 440 cal per bottle. Most filling, but I can't see ONLY having one juice on those days. Talk about having too much time freed up by not eating ...
I'm still figuring it out but I might do a two day juice thing for awhile. I'm hooked. Thanks for inspiring me!Angie

I think the blue print cashew cream is only about 300 calories so I guess you could have that and one other juice (or 1 1/2 green juices). Or maybe just 1/2 the cashew (which would work if you're doing 2 of those days a week) an then two others. But - I mean... 500 calories. I can not imagine, unless I had a stomach flu or something! The juice thing is bad enough!!! Anyway, I'm leaning toward Tuesday or Wednesday now. I'm planning on pre-cooking a few meals today, and think it might make sense to eat those earlier in the week.
I already hate working. It's so much more of pain to be super healthy when you only have time to go grocery shopping once a week. And buying all this produce at once (plus all these little juices) totally packs our fridge to the point that I have to empty multiple things out on to the counter to find what I'm looking for...

LOL. It's sort of fitting that my posts on this got lost. I tried and failed. My food intake is tied directly to my mood. Being in hunger mode makes me irritable to the point of breaking out into sobs. It's ridiculous actually. I have not done well trying to starve myself. Day 1 of very strict medifast (I decided to do only the shakes and meal replacements) left me sitting in the kitchen sobbing my eyes out to my husband. I'm generally not the crying type. I just completely lost all control and cried and cried. In his wisdom, he took the kids and I to Texas Roadhouse. I was going to just have a salad to stick with the diet and instead I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. I nearly cried with joy as I ate it and afterwords? I felt so much better (even as the guilt settled in).
I'm going to have to figure out how to lose weight without starving myself. That will mean adding exercise. I just have to get off of my lazy bum and do it.

Or maybe it's just not the right time. I'm a strong believer in not setting yourself up for failure with dieting. I quit trying this summer and just decided to maintain. Now that things are settling down, I am trying to pick up where I left off last May.
Honestly, with Andrew leaning on you to adjust and your already busy schedule, maybe you need to wait until you have more of a routine. It's just ONE MORE THING. And that can put anyone over the edge.Angie

You might be right, Angie. This would be a really good time for me to add exercise to my schedule too. I feel like I'm on edge quite a bit with all of the extra pressures and lack of sleep since school started. I still want to be careful about what I eat (ummm, bacon cheeseburgers need to be very rare treats) but at the same time, I need to figure out what my body needs. I'm not getting enough sleep, I'm exhausted, I've got the stress of Andrew, I'm fighting the local district about Amanda .... I have a full plate and then in the midst of it, I'm starving myself? I think you might be right. I know it makes no logical physiological sense, but I do think your body can change its metabolism in response to stress - and that might make some times "easier" and some times "harder" to lose. For me, I have found that counting calories and keeping them down at extremely low levels is the only thing that makes my 47 year old body lose an ounce. That's not always possible. I felt very vindicated and educated by the whole "juice cleanse" thing because I was consuming 500-700 calories a day, hitting a 90 minute power yoga class and I was FINE. Seriously, what kind of freaky body is FINE with that? It's no wonder I need to run on 1100 and exercise 5 times a week to lose weight. 1400 is maintaining for me. 1800 and I'm gaining. It sucks in modern life because I LOVE food, but I suppose it's a blessing to have a machine that can run so lean.
I'm a firm believer in learning what works for YOU and letting all the rest go. And I'm only just figuring myself out now. Hopefully, I can keep using this knowledge to get and stay healthy for a longer life.Angie
