    Fitness/Weightloss 2014

I think it's better to start the new year a little late. I honestly hate the first few weeks after nye. EVERYONE is on a workout kick. The gym is packed, classes are full, the grocery store is out of Greek yogurt and almond milk. It annoys me. So perfect timing - most people are about to quit! Great time to start up again

And yeah - two days of 90min power yoga = well on your way to full recovery!

Ugh, I didn't realize you had H1N1!!!! We got that in 2009. No wonder you still feel like crud. I would abandon all guilty feelings about not doing what you're "supposed" to do, and concentrate on getting your energy back. I hesitate to say it...but it took a full 6 weeks or so for me to feel normal-ish. I slept a LOT. Don't push yourself too hard! Take it slow and gentle.
It seriously kicked my ass. I had no idea I could be down for the count like that. And yeah, I'm starting to feel like it will be a few more weeks until I'm up to full steam. Flu shots, people!!!! I'm converted.

I miss the trainer I worked with in Cleveland, I only met with her 3-4 times to adjust my program and have her show me some equipment, but it was enough to keep me confident and motivated...
I know!! I have workout equipment in our basement even. Dumbbells, kettleballs, bench, treadmill, BOB (for boxing), yoga mat/block...and I'm all "ewwww" because it's dirty, dusty, and gross down there.

Are you going to get back to the nosy gym, or the one that's further away?

It's scary how it can take you down. When we got it during the last outbreak, an 8yo boy in our community died. So sad.

My cousins little girl was 6 when she hit it and was in the hospital for 4 months - most of that time in a coma. It's certainly no joke!!

So far I've kept to my 5-10mins of exercise bike most days. Eating has been ok though I could do better. I think I've lessened the reins these last few days toward crunchy stuff. Next week I'm having oral surgery and will not be able to chew for about six months. Im dreading it. I'm hoping it won't be that bad but should help me loose weight. I foresee many smoothies, yogurt and oatmeal.

I've lost half the holiday weight! Woot! I just need to keep going and not get off track (no easy task with all the junk at work and the horrible boredom)!

The nosy one! My 18 month contract doesn't expire until August. So I'm chipping away at the reasons I don't like going: I got new shoes (that will never see dirt, so I don't feel paranoid about getting another lecture) and a gym bag to carry them in, I'm going to get new workout clothes, and I'm going to research the crap out of a basic circuit training program that I can do confidently without people running up to tell me I'm Doin' It Rong! Oh, and I'm going to get my mom to give me her old iPod shuffle so I can plug in some earbuds and ignore everyone. I think I could be back by next week.

The kids came back and school started and then I got a little cold or something. So I've been a major slack ass. I need something to work for/train for. Last year it was the idea of dating. This year I've given up. The idea of getting strong just for me isn't as motivating as the idea of getting naked for someone else.

Thanks for the encouragement! Tomorrow is a new day (today was, too, but I'm exhausted from H's lack of sleep last night). I'm going to crash in about 5 minutes and start fresh! I hope everyone is feeling healthy by the start of next week!

I worked out at lunch today. I did this workout. I thought I was doing to die , but it was good timing to do during lunch.

Crap. A pair of pants that were tight a few months ago I can't even button. I'm in a non gym phase but I've been so good about doing workout videos at home and using the bike trainer. Working out more than when I was making myself go to the gym. I don't want to get discouraged by stepping on the scale. Maybe I should start counting calories.

Also, I'm pretty sure the last time I was this weight I was at least a size, maybe two bigger in pants. So either I'm wearing tighter clothes or working out does tone. tehe.

Working out does tone!! Before my wedding I relied on my measurements and it was crazy how my weight didn't actually matter.
