Yeah. No way I could make the fitbit goal. I had one day when I did an insane amount of walking all day and didn't get there. That's when I halved all my goals.

Began logging calories yesterday. Went over objective but that usually happens the first couple days.
Today: 30 min yoga video, 20 min HIIT video, 20 min bike trainer.
I've decided to log calories consumed but not spent (I always go overboard with rewarding myself when I see those numbers). Exercise as much as possible. Stay within 1200-1500 calories a day with no food/beverage exclusions. Weekly weigh in, maybe. How does that sound?Last edited by MAPPLEBUM; 01-17-2014, 04:28 PM.

Sore immediately after workout today. Means I'll hardly be able to walk in 48 hours.

I don't know how tall you are or how hard you're working out, but I'm feeling good on about 1500-1800 calories including wine and chocolate. Down about 6 pounds since Christmas, just walking. I find that if I under-eat, I feel too fatigued to do anything active, and after a few days or weeks of doing that chronically I eventually get so miserable that I break my diet spectacularly. Bodies do run on calories, you know? Yay for Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness! Love that feeling. I'd urge you to do something, just go for a walk or do an easy spin on the trainer, even if you can't make yourself do another high intensity workout. It builds the habit for exercise and loosens up those sore muscles.Alison

I was also going to say 1200 is pretty low (but everyone is different, so I figured I wouldn't ). I think my juice cleanse was about 1000 and I literally could hardly move. I think my like absolute lowest is like 1350. I lose weight there, and still have at least some energy (although I will say that I'm quite the bitch under 1500 ).

When I say I lose - I don't really. Not quickly. It would take me like 3 months - plus I would have to give up wine and almost all carbs, but I could lose like 10lbs. So nothing drastic.
I think 1500-1700 maintains for me (but still only if a clean diet), and anything above that I gain slowly. I also workout a lot (often for about 2 hrs) - so maybe that's where the extra calories come in? I don't know - but 1200 scares me.
I have been gaining weight though. But I did have a week where I couldn't even track my food on UP because I was just too embarrassed for anyone to see how much I ate!!! Never good.

Yea besides the exercise I live a pretty sedentary lifestyle. Living in colder climates has also greatly reduced the walks/hikes/rides I used to do in addition to workouts. I have been hitting the exercise hard for the last month and I gained 4 lbs, but even after a week of basically keeping 12-1500 calories I'd be surprised if I've lost any weight. If I'm able to keep this up I'd expect to start seeing results in about 3 weeks. My body LOVES to gain and hates to lose.Last edited by MAPPLEBUM; 01-21-2014, 02:14 PM.

I've lost 3 pounds since the beginning of the year. I'm not thinking this is worth it.
I think I was PMSing and bloated when I took my first few weight measurements after Christmas. Counting from January 1, I'm also down 3 pounds. I won't be a swimsuit model in time for my Hawaii vacation in 2.5 weeks, but I think I'll still be making good food choices and working on fitness in a month or two, which is what I'm aiming for! Tenacity!Alison
