Hello Friends, I know it's Tuesday but what are your goals for this week?

I've been doing really well exercising and logging ...most...of my calories. But have gone over calorie limit the last couple days. Not with good calories either, but on things like sweets. I weigh on Thursday and would like to feel like this:

I'm going to log my calories. Supposed to be hitting 2000 a day, have to make sure I'm doing it and getting enough protein.
Also going to hit the treadmill (a 40 min tv show on a 10% incline, as fast as I can manage, usually 2mph ) on the days I don't go to the gym.

I am recommitting to no wheat or sugar. Holy crap. We had DS's bday party and I have a ring of eczema on my neck from all the damn cake. Ow. Plus it makes me fat.

That's all the goals I can handle. I weighed yesterday and nearly passed out bc I gained 8 pounds since I started training. *sigh* Trusting the system...

I'm frustrated this week; I haven't been able to make it to yoga class since Friday. This weekend was a shitstorm and we were stuck at my parent's house out of town and since Sunday my shoulder has hurt. Not like a good "I worked out" hurt but a "if you move me one more time I will cripple you with pain" sort of hurt. I am frustrated with it because it comes and goes. I want to go to yoga!!

And, of course, I'm PMSing so I want to eat ALL the salt and meat and cheese in the world. If I could just drink A-1 I think I'd be happy. And yes, I know how gross that sounds.

So yeah, frustrated. But I weigh in tomorrow so we'll know then how well this week ended up for me. *crosses fingers*

Get a foam roller! They sell decent ones at target, but you can get a better deal online.

Then look on Pinterest for foam rolling and shoulder pain. If you didn't *really* hurt something, the foam roller should help.

But it's so f'ing cold. I can't imagine going to hot yoga and having to walk out to the car in this crap!!! (I have to park kind of far from my yoga studio, so this could just be a personal issue).

Big 5 now also carries really good foam rollers. Another decent option that DH uses all the time is just a racquetball. He rolls it on his back up against the wall.

Good luck! I love how on Fitbit's calorie log it cheers you if you reach your calorie intake goal.

My massage therapist told me to do this and I did, laying down. I was in pain for days. Maybe I'll try it against the wall!

BTW my workout pants feel like they fit normally again (they were getting tight)! But it's probably a case of "back to tight after dryer".

Rolling can hurt like a mofo, but it should help and make you feel better when you're done.

Thanks for the ideas on rolling! I need to find some option to try to help when my shoulder acts up. It's dehabilitating at times.

                      • My goal is to only go over my calories on Sunday. I'm not counting them that day. I'm having a Super Bowl party, and I refuse to stick to the veggie tray.

Hell, don't even bother having one. Why waste any valuable stomach real estate on veggies?! I'm wishing I was into football just so I could have the party.

Right in the middle between where my shoulder joint is and where my neck is. It radiates down the arm and sometimes my fingers tingle. My upper back yells and feels as though it needs cracked constantly.

Hope that was a good enough description.

                            • Foam rollers are painful. I couldn't take it. You lot must be tough.

Ran a 6 mile race on Saturday. Slower than my best by a long way. Coming back is hard.

I've had a sustained injury in my right shoulder/neck. My current favorite ways to temper it is with Biofreeze (like IcyHot but less harsh) and when I can afford it myo fascial "massage" or trigger point massage. If I put some BioFreeze on before bed I wake up feeling much better.
