I'm 4 weeks into my new diet/exercise routine, and I'm down 5.5lbs. Hoping I can keep it up and lose 10-15 more, although I'm sure it won't all come off this quickly. I also got a FitBit - I've been wanting to upgrade and have been debating forever between a couple of FitBit and Garmin models, and hubby finally got tired of me being indecisive and ordered the FitBit Alta HR for me. So, I'd love to be friends!

Yay! How do you feel? May I add you on Fitbit? (I found you on R&D's list.)

            Yes, everybody add me, please!

I feel good - the workouts are getting easier for me, especially the tougher cardio. One of last week's workouts had 2 sets of 30-second jumping jacks, and I actually made it through both of them without stopping, so I was pretty excited about that. I can tell that I've lost mostly from my belly, and a little everywhere else. It's obvious when you compare current with before pictures, which I'd share, except I took the before pictures in my underwear, so they're not super appropriate. The kids walked off with my measuring tape, so I can't take new measurements to compare until I find that.

Excited to hear about your progress! That's fantastic.

If jumping jacks get super easy, you can always start working up to star jumps (3 sets of 10). 🙂

I am starting a building phase with weights, which is always challenging. :/
Going to yoga classes 3x a week, and enjoying it immensely: one of my teachers is transitioning to moon style for summer ("Why are we trying to build heat when it feels like 100 degrees outside?") so it's nice to work on foundational practice with her.
My other teacher does Vinyasa flow in the evenings and challenges me so much! I can now execute both crow and wheel pose without having a panic attack that "I won't succeed". Nothing too advanced, but definitely goals of mine. I like the balance of their styles together.

Star jumps are terrible! Some of the FitnessBlender videos have them too.

Awesome, congratulations!! I feel like once you can do crow there's so many other fancy poses you can get into. Not that I would know, my wrist still gives me trouble so I avoid all of the fancy arm balances. Maybe one day, it's a huge accomplishment!

                      what is moon style yoga?

So, a couple of days into my FitBit, I have a few thoughts. I definitely miss the waterproof feature of the Garmin, and the long battery life. The FitBit also have a few annoying things that may be specific to the Alta HR, where it's not always on (I have to tap it or move my wrist the right way), and if I want to check my HR or steps, I have to always start at the same place and scroll through, instead of keeping it on a specific feature. But, the FitBit definitely motivates me to get up and move more - with the buzzing and the note that "only 130 steps to make your hourly goal," I'm more likely to actually get up from my desk and go for a walk or at least pace around my office, which is the goal, right? The FitBit definitely wins for looks too, especially once I get a new, nicer band for it. The heart rate feature isn't totally accurate during my workouts - sometimes it shows my HR a lot lower than I know it actually is, but it's pretty good otherwise.

                          Mostly softer lines, yin-style.

This is the first week I've felt sore from working out, and I love it!

I've been trying to do moves where I can be holding baby. Any mom&baby recommendations for videos or accounts to follow on IG?

Squats, Russian twists (if you had DR or a C Section, no go), supine bent knee toe taps (alternating), shoulder presses (holding baby), lunges (holding baby), bridge pose (baby as counter weight horizontally across pelvis).

Get a yoga mat with blanket and I can give you loads more where baby is actively being engaged. 😎

There are some Fit4Mom videos on YouTube that give some ideas. I'm a fan of Tabata workouts and many of them can be done while wearing a baby.
