Milk, Cows Milk

  • Milk, Cows Milk

I haven't been a milk drinker since I was a child. For the last maybe decade used soy or almond milk for cereals etc.

A few months ago I tried Fair Life chocolate milk to drink as a dessert and realized I seriously craved it. Last week I bought the regular milk curious if it was the sugar or if there was actually something in the chocolate milk my body craved. Well, that milk is gone and I bought a second container yesterday.

Potassium? Calcium? Vit D? It's so strange that I'm drinking milk for the first time in two decades.

This happens occasionally with leafy greens. All of a sudden I crave spinach daily, and then eventually I realize I've moved on to something else.

Do you go through periods like this? Spinach is obviously healthy so I've never questioned it. But I never expected to be a milk drinker again so I'm suspicious! I mean, do you guys even drink milk? In a glass? As a snack and not complement to cookies?

Anybody with a latte habit drinks a glass of flavored milk as a snack regularly, LOL.

I have phases where I do a glass of chocolate milk as a workout recovery drink. But for the last 10 years I've gone with soy, not cow milk. It has similar protein/carb ratios and better (IMO) fats and fulfills the same purpose for me.

Only when I'm pregnant. I'm not a huge meat eater at all. When pregnant, I eat like a man. I craved stuff like Reubens on Rye. LOL. WHAT?

I mean I crave baked goods, but not healthy foods. It does sound like your body may be telling you to seek certain nutrients.

I love milk. Drink it on my cereal every AM and with my nightly cookie.

I don't remember the last time I had a glass of just milk. I drink it in coffee every day though (iced coffee concentrate with milk, and currently also with protein shake mix), and every once in a while I'll have it in cereal.

I've never really liked it. I use it in my coffee though. I went through a phase with soy milk though.

My parents made me drink milk every day until high school. Blah. I could probably do a glass of chocolate milk no problem, but now I use almond milk for cereal, soy in lattes, and a splash of whole milk or half and half for coffee only. I haven't found a good non-dairy coffee creamer yet.

I use skim lactose free milk on cereal which I eat rarely and when I have cookies. Just a glass of milk by itself though? Never.

What creamer does DH use? So far everything I've tried separates or is kind of grainy looking.

YES! Years ago I tried milk from a local farmer in upstate NY. It tasted absolutely nothing like the stuff you normally buy in the store. It was so delicious. The Fairlife milk reminds me of that.

I also love that it has more protein and lactose free. Win win

I think it's just Fairlife milk. It is amazing! I'm a milk drinker, a picky one at that and I love it. I think it's because they filter it rather than pasteurize.

He uses either the organic coconut cream from the can, or the refrigerator coconut creamer from TJs.
