  • Weight Loss Thread

There are several of us working to lose weight, so I was thinking I should post a thread where we can post our losses. We can come here to celebrate! Or cry. LOL.

    Is there anyone else?

I'll start. I lost 4.6 pounds last week. I was surprised because I'm not at a high weight, I am not at the beginning of weight loss, and I did not do anything different. So whatever, I should be glad.

I still have some weight left to lose. Today I'm down 9.5lbs from my highest that I recorded in January, although I was down 11lbs before summer started. I've got 2.5lbs to go before I get my BMI under 25, and then I'd like to lose an additional 5-10 after that.

I'm doing intermittent fasting (16:8), trying to make generally good decisions about what I eat, and exercising on my Peloton for 30-60mins 4-6 days/week.

I’m down 11 pounds. It’s exciting but partly frustrating as I have a lot too lose. Still, I’m excited.

The hubby and I took the kids to Cancun for a week earlier this month and although I’m proud of my efforts to enjoy our all inclusive vacation reasonably (I basically quit logging for the week, tried to stay active by doing classes there, and traded my fruity cocktails in for vodka/club sodas), I still gained some weight while there. It’s been 9 days since we’ve been back and while it has been a mental struggle to get back on the wagon, I’m happy that I’ve managed to lose everything I gained.

The next hurdle is that hubby and I will be going on another all inclusive resort vacation to Cabo in less than three weeks. I’m doing my best to mitigate the damage I know I’ll do on that trip (especially considering it’ll be an adults only birthday celebration vacation!) while mentally preparing myself to remain active once again on vacation. Typically we just lounge by the pool, eat and drink during these beach vacays, so hitting the gym and participating in all the activities is a nice change of pace and makes me feel less guilty.

I just met a new group of women on the Nextdoor app who want to be fitness and weight loss buddies so that also helps! It also helps that DH is also doing the same thing so we can support each other.

Losing weight is exciting because of all the good stuff that happens midway, as you go along. I wrote a post about that a while back. But, just wait till you see how excited you are the first time you go down a size!!! New clothes! Smaller clothes! Wear more styles!

It's not like you transition in an instant from your biggest weight to your smallest weight.
          Hang in there!!!

I weighed today and am down 12.5 pounds. Don’t sweat the gain. Women’s bodies are funny. Hormones. Water retention. You’ve got this!

Considering your big loss last week, overall still pretty good. I understand your frustration though.

How often is everyone weighing? I’m only weighing in on Mondays. It helps me from becoming obsessed with the scale and I see bigger changes that way rather than tiny movement throughout the week. For accountability, I will commit to posting my progress or lack there of here every Monday.

Way to go for your loss! My aunt always says "Weigh to go"! And, hang in there! One thing you could do is make an intermediate goal, losing 30 pounds say, then planning a celebration when you get there. New clothes? Restaurant? Whatever you think. I always want to go to the chinese buffet.

                        And thanks for the support!

Yea, I wondered if this could be a correction from last week. I only weight around 165, so losing 4.6 pounds is alot.

I weigh Fridays. I'll commit to posting here too. I'm not looking forward to this Friday though. i have family in town all week, so my eating will be disordered. Oh well.
