Re: Appetizer to pair with a shiraz

Ahhh...roses are made for summer! I don't think we are going to have a long summer. It's already 65 and rainy. And I have one rose left. Maybe I should turn the heat up?

I JUST saw this thread. I'm so glad you went with the Woop Woop and loved it! Yay - it's one of my favorites.

I at the Zinfandel comment too but hey, learning new wines is great! Although I'd rather have water than a white zin - blech!! It's typically for people that don't drink wine - at least that's how the winos view it. (I'm guilty of that bias myself.) I've had some good European roses though.

For the record, I'm a fan of the Penfold's Chard. Yummers.

Sounds like it was great! (I hate merlot, too.)

Basically I went to the Wine Dude at the chi-chi grocery store and told him what our mission was and he thanked me! We found mostly the French and the Italians know their way around the pinks and they were usually very yummy. Good summer wines.

a good blanc de noir makes such a pretty glass o' bubbly, too.

Spanish roses are pretty good too. Oh, and the color in any wine is from the skins not the grape juices, so basically all the red grapes would result in white wine if the skins weren't left in the tank to stew a bit.

Yes, I know that but DH thinks a red grape should make a red wine, that is his point.
