LC should NOT be seasoned. Seasoning usually refers to cast iron pans. For our cast iron pans, I followed America's Test Kitchen instructions, but that can be googled. Seasoning is the way to properly care for cast iron. LC don't need this because they are enameled.

    Hope this helps!

I love love love my LC stuff - I have had them for over 30 years. I also love that they have a life-time warranty - I had one that had a crack in the enamel and I sent it back and they sent a brand - new one!

I don't bother seasoning any of my LC stuff either. Just make sure you don't wash the non-enameled parts with soap and you're all good.

Btw, I also have a cast iron pan from IKEA and really like it too. Although it can't go in the oven like the LC ones.

Why can't the cast iron go in the oven?

Maybe the handle isn't oven safe? I put my cast iron skillet in the oven.

Yeah, I would think if it's *all* cast-iron, it should be fine in the oven, but if it has a wood or plastic handle, that would be a problem.

My largest one has a crack in the enamel. How and where do you return it to get a replacement?

My cast iron says it is oven safe up to 450 degrees. I have not ever used it in the oven, but I am sure I will one day.

The IKEA one has a wooden handle, that's why it doesn't go in the oven. Le Creuset ones are all cast iron, so they go in with no problems.

Fake Le Creuset from ALDI on sale--my professor told me about this if you are interested. I've seen it in person, looks pretty good
