  • Side dish help

    My IL's are visiting...again!

I am making slow cooker ribs Friday night but need suggestions for sides. Keep in mind my MIL is gluten free...

    Any suggestions?

    Green beans with almonds?
    Sweet potatoes?

That's about all I got - I always serve my BBQ with mashed taters, corn, and slaw!

      Rice

Fresh (or frozen) veggie -- whatever is in season (sometimes we have two)

salads with gluten free dressing (Annie's has several).

My my mom is a Celiac and sometimes she just has the meat we serve with rice crackers and hummus.

      Good luck!

Love this version of coleslaw for BBQ nights.

My mom eats gluten-free, too. Polenta, rice, and risotto all work for. I know you asked for sides but thought I'd mention this too. I found a gluten-free enchilada sauce and that with corn tortillas works for her.

I think sweet potato fries would be a yummy addition to BBQ.

I made these last night with steak and they were incredible (and easy)

One of our favorite side dishes is pan seared asparagus with kiwi and a little lemon juice. I was never an asparagus fan until this dish.
