What is it?!? I had no success googling it.
The thing drives me bonkers. I had frozen a package of chicken breasts, the kind in a styrofoam tray that is then wrapped in plastic. Today I needed it for a slow cooker recipe that called for frozen chicken breasts and the damn sheet on the bottom of the chicken wouldn't pull off completely. I had to fight with it and even use a paring knife to get some leftover bits. Then I decided that I could still see fibers on the chicken and I put it in the microwave to defrost a bit, hoping I'd be able to remove it after that. Nope, it was all gone. Absorbed by the chicken? What is that thing anyway?
One time I tossed chicken in the slow cooker, sheet and all. I didn't even know that thing existed. I found it when I was putting the leftovers away.
