  • Bread Machines

Any bread machine recommendations? I'm considering this one:

    http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-CBK-...ef=pd_sim_b_12

Any good bread recipe books/websites/blogs either?

No recs on machines, but I have just found my best recipes by word of mouth. I have a good honey whole wheat bread recipe if you want it.

I have an oven, my KitchenAid stand mixer, and a loaf pan. I make some pretty good gluten-free bread. I'll share!

I have this fantasy of providing fresh-baked whole wheat bread for my family weekly. Pipedream? I do remember being fond of the loaves from my mom's breadmaker growing up.

I like this one: Summer Thyme Bread (http://allrecipes.com/recipe/summer-...e7=Home%20Page).

I've also had good luck with the recipes that come with the bread maker.

I do it, but without a bread machine. With the machine to time the bread rising, etc, it would be even easier. Good luck!! No recs on the machine though...I've adapted recipes from Cook's Illustrated and this: http://www.amazon.com/The-Bread-Bake.../dp/1580082688 book. I can eyeball good dough now and am getting better at experimentation. It is tons of fun!

I've read good reviews on the zojirushi. I keep toying with the idea of getting one. I miss the smell and taste of fresh, warm bread. My biggest issue is counter space. If I have to put it away and lug it out i'll never use it. I want a yogurt maker too. Sigh. We need a bigger kitchen. I would love fresh bread and yogurt so I could control the ingredients, and we go through buckets of both.

The zojirushis look awesome but are just too expensive for us right now.

I wonder if you can find a used one that someone simply hasn't used the way they thought they would.

Hey- before you buy a bread machine, buy Artisan Breads in Five Minutes a Day. Oddly enough, written by a MD. It's a bit of a misnomer but super, super easy. We're working our way through the recipes. Right now I have Limpia dough in my fridge- a sweet Scandinavian breakfast bread with orange peel, anise and cinnamon. YUM. We've made boule, whole wheat bread, rye bread- super easy and super fun.
