  • It's cookie time!!

For me, it isn't Christmas time until I bake more cookies than two people can safely consume. I started my baking last night and tried a new recipe - Chocolate Chip Kiss Cookies. They are actually pretty good!
    Here is the link: http://www.hersheyskisses.com/htm/recip ... ookies.htm

What kind of cookies do you make?

I like making biscotti (double chocolate w/ walnuts) and english toffee with chocolate smeared on top. I usually send them to family members as inexpensive gifts. If I'm together enough, I try to make gingerbread cookies with the kids. We might get around to making them this year but I'm making no promises!

My favorites to make are mini black-and-white cookies. They are very yummy! (made with lots of butter). Not sure if I'll make them this year since we are staying home for the holidays.

That biscotti sounds yummy! I made more chocolate chip kiss cookies over the weekend as well as M & M cookies and "Cake mix" cookies. Then I made DH take most of the cookies to school to share with his friends so that I don't eat them. 8 )

So....I am pretty much totally out of control with the baking this year. I have made chocolate truffles, chocolate cherry macaroons, caramel hazelnut bars, cream cheese spritz cookies, apricot almond biscotti, espresso gingerbread mini-bundt cakes, jam sandwich cookies, and shortbread. I have talked myself out of the English toffee but may change my mind over the course of the day.
I'm making a chocolate raspberry tart for Christmas.
I love baking and having an excuse to bake....and I love, love my Kitchenaid mixer. It's such a trooper!

I would just like to say that these cookies sound fabulous and I think some recipe sharing is in order!!

I'm using my KitchenAid for the first time today. Ahh, what a pleasure it is. No more aching arm and shoulder. I'm trying a bunch of new recipes this year - I'll post them if they turn out any good. For Christmas Eve I am making a chocolate mousse cake and a caramel pecan pie with homemade vanilla ice cream. Mmmmm...

I love this time of year!!! Baking is so much fun :!
