I love Diane Rehms voice. She sounds like my grandmother -- and me. We are a family of scratchy deep voices. Different strokes, I guess!

Also, since this thread has become kind of about NPR in general...can we talk about Diane Reems voice?
I've talked about this before on here. She actually sounds a little better than she did a few years ago. I feel bad because I know it is an illness, but at the same time, it is freakin' radio. That and I really think she is an awful host and interviewer. If you can get past the voice, she asks the banal/biased questions and interrupts with random crap.

My mom used to work with her at AP Radio, and says, "I knew her when she was still MIH-chele."
Ohhhhh reallly? Now I totally feel vindicated that it was a "look at me I'm speshul and unique" move
Married to a newly minted Pediatric Rad, momma to a sweet girl and a bunch of (mostly) cute boy monsters.

I agree. I tried to get past the voice and if she was a good host, I could try and get past it but I find her awful as an interviewer. She asks leading questions and is so.boring because she takes SO LONG to say anything in her roundabout way.
Married to a Urology Attending! (that is an understated exclamation point)
